Slovenia offers breathtaking scenery, exciting Alpine and Mediterranean fauna and flora as well as world famous caves and a short but beautiful Adriatic Coast.
The karst region around Postojna is famous for its World Heritage caves and it can be anoptional programme to pay a visit there.
The seasonal Lake Cerknica and the scenic Mount Nanos are excellent for birdwatching, providing home for Ferruginous Duck, Corn Crake, Rock Partridge, Rock Thrush and Rock Bunting among others.
The Secovlje Saltpans on the Slovenian Coast offer an interesting array of shorebirds and other species including Mediterranean Gull, Cetti's Warbler and Zitting Cisticola.

Our price includes:
- all travel as noted in the itinerary;
- all accommodation based on shared rooms (most rooms are twin bedded), at most locations there are single rooms as well for extra charge (Please ask for a single room at the time of booking!);

Day1
After arriving to Ljubljana Airport we drive north into the Julian Alps. Time permitting we might take a walk close to our hotel at Lake Bohinj searching for Gray-headed Woodpecker, Dipper and Gray Wagtail.
Days2-3
We visit Lake Bled and explore the Julian Alps to look for rare alpine mammals, reptiles, butterflies and birds including Ring Ouzel, Common Crossbill, Nutcracker, Crested Tit, Gray-headed and Black Woodpecker. We can also take a cable car to Mount Vogel to look for Alpine Chough.
Day4
We visit the Soca Valley and the mountains around Bovec in search of alpine species such as Ptarmigan, Alpine Accentor, Water Pipit, Alpine Chough and Snowfinch.
Days5-6
We visit Lake Cerknica, a seasonal lake hosting Red-necked Grebe, Ferruginous Duck, Corn Crake, River Warbler and Common Rosefinch among others. We explore Postojna Cave and Skocjan Cave. On top of scenic Mount Nanos and nearby hills we look for Golden Eagle, Rock Partridge and Rock Thrush.
Day7
We drive to the Mediterranean coast to explore Secovlje saltpans on a day trip, an area excellent for waders, gulls, terns as well as Cetti's Warbler and Zitting Cisticola.
Day8
We drive back to Ljubljana to take our flight back home.
