Eastern Europe - Wildflowers

Within Eastern Europe you can find an amazing variety of different landscapes and habitats ranging from inland sand dunes through grassy steppes till various deciduous and coniferous forests, rocky volcanic or limestone slopes each covered with unique flora. Would you think that there are over 3,000 flowering plant species just in such a small country like Hungary? What is more it includes more than 50 species of orchids and many other specialities such as a long list of Pannonic endemics which are not found anywhere else. If you visit High Tatras in Slovakia and Poland or Eastern Carpathians in Transylvania, Romania or further East the Caucasus you will be surprised by the amazing carpets of fantastic wildflowers which hardly found in Western Europe.
